Being a Ticket Reseller

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

I have just got back from the train station, trying to make some money. I did a ticket-resell. Considering this is my first time, I think I was not bad. I was nice -- I treated all my customers in a nice way.

I got to the station at 4.15 and a bit panic to see there were no queueing lines. I had made a plan to resell the ticket to people who are lining up, but it seemed I could sell it to no one. Not knowing what to do, I decided to wait still right in front of the souvenir shop.

From where I stood I saw a young man standing. He looked confused. So I walked toward him. Who knows?

"Mas, mau tiket Parahyangan jam lima? Saya nggak jadi berangkat..." I said.

"Wah, saya juga masih bingung ini, mau Argo apa Parahyangan,"

"Oh"

He was my first customer and I already knew he was confused. I should think about being a marketing executive someday.

"Kenapa-kenapa Mas?" suddenly a girl standing close to us asked me.

"Oh, ini Mbak. Saya udah beli tiket Parahyangan jam lima, tapi nggak jadi berangkat.."

"Kenapa nggak jadi?"

She was my second customer and she already got interested in knowing me further. I should think about being a public figure someday.

"Saya beliin buat pacar saya, tapi ternyata dia udah beli sendiri." (That lame excuse was the only thing that popped up in my head in a half second)

"Oh, kalo gitu nanti dulu deh Mas."

Then I moved to the information board, pretending to be reading something important there. After about five seconds, I saw my prospective customer coming: a sweet young lady in a hurry.

"Saya punya tiket Parahyangan jam lima. Mbak mau beli nggak?"

She looked at me a while and said "Kenapa kamunya nggak jadi?"

Damn, I really should think about being a public figure seriously.

"Saya mau berangkat sama temen-temen saya, lewat Cipularang." (This excuse sounds better than the first)

"Oh, apa saya bareng temen-temen kamu juga aja ya?"

I trembled. This was a situation where an amateur like me couldn't handle. I said to myself I was in duty. Must be professional. Then, "Hehe," I just smiled.

"Mana liat?"

"Ini. Jam lima, Parahyangan. Eksekutif."

"Nih." She handed me 100 thousands. Being a stupid amateur, I didn't prepare the change. All I have was 40 thousands in wallet. So I gave her all of it. "Saya nggak punya lima ribuan Mbak, jadi 60 aja deh."

"Wah, pake diskon. Makasih ya Mas!"

"Sama-sama,"

I walked out the station, stopped the angkot and headed home. What a nice ticket-reseller I have been, don't you think? :)

Kagak usah selesain kuliah aja klo gitu Kram (mode nyetanin orang). Kalau "legenda pribadi" elo ternyata memang jadi ticket-reseller, ya udah, kayaknya gak perlu lulus hidup-hidup dari ITB. :P

Ayooo taun depann!! Tapi harus udah megang ijazah asli. Gara2 itu kmaren gwa ga bisa ikutan. Huh sebal.

"...Agaknya elo emang dikaruniai nasib mujur berlebih ya, dalam urusan lalu lintas..." --> tergantung amal Kram! =D

Kemaren nonton yang memperebutkan piala itu. Nggak tau jilid berapa.

Tujuan menjual tiket: belajar meyakinkan orang (tau gitu mendingan gabung MLM sekalian, hahah).

Wah Ly, kalo kapan kapan lo batal berangkat, kontak2 gua ya, biar gua jual-ulang tiketnya. Asssiiik. Kali ini gua siap2 kembalian dah.
